DAY 1

From Marradi to Badia della Valle (Distance: 11 km)

Arrival in Marradi and start of the trek in the heart of the Tuscan-Romagnol Apennines.

From the centre of the village, passing through the distinctive archway of Via Fabbrini and climbing the evocative “Vicolo della Badia”, you’ll join the CAI 521 trail. The route climbs gradually through woodland and open views, taking in Monte Gianni and Monte Castelnuovo, as far as the junction with trail 583 toward Poggio Grilleta.

From here you continue along an unmarked stretch toward Montechiarano, finally reaching Badia della Valle, a place immersed in quiet and the most authentic natural surroundings.

Overnight stay at an agriturismo.

DAY 2

Badia della Valle – Gamogna – Trebbana – Badia della Valle (Distance: 24 km)

A full day rich in views, among ancient hermitages, woodland and paths immersed in the distinctive nature of the Apennines.

From the hamlet of Badia della Valle, you’ll first cover around 4 km on a paved local road as far as Podere Val di Noce (this stretch can be walked or driven with a guide). From here the route continues along footpaths and forest roads through places of timeless charm, until you reach the Gamogna Hermitage. You’ll then continue toward the Trebbana area, crossing beautiful panoramic viewpoints.

Return to the agriturismo at Badia della Valle.

DAY 3

Badia della Valle – Marradi (Distance: 11 km)

The final day is dedicated to the return to Marradi, crossing peaceful Apennine landscapes.

Once in the village, you’ll discover the charm of Marradi, strolling along its historic streets and visiting some of its most emblematic sites, such as the distinctive Teatro degli Animosi and the Church of San Lorenzo, home to the precious 15th-century works of the celebrated Master of Marradi.

For those who wish, it will also be possible to take part in a visit with tasting at the historic residence of Palazzo Torriani.
