The hinterland of Ravenna, from the Apennines all the way to the sea, is rich in Romanesque churches.
Romanesque architecture, which blends Byzantine and Lombard elements, is characterised by imposing structures, thick walls, rounded arches, sturdy columns and cross vaults.

The Ravenna area still preserves important traces of early Christian art today. Romanesque parish churches dot the plains and hills, and by visiting them we offer a cultural and spiritual itinerary combining art, landscapes, quality food and fine wine.

DAY 1

Ravenna and surroundings

Departure from Ravenna, with a first stop at the Parish of San Pietro in Trento, located near the course of the Montone river.

We continue on to the town of Godo (an ancient ford on the Tigurio river), where we’ll visit the Pieve di Santo Stefano.
Lunch at a traditional local restaurant with a platter of quality produce and a tasting of native wines, including Burson.

In the afternoon, a visit to San Pietro in Sylvis, then on to San Pancrazio to discover one of the oldest Romanesque churches in the area.

DAY 2

Bertinoro

A visit to the Church of Polenta.

The tour concludes with a visit to the Museum of the Three Religions, the only one of its kind in Italy.
