A bike journey that starts at the Vena del Gesso Park and reaches all the way to the Po Delta Park, following gravel tracks and secondary roads along the course of the Canale dei Mulini. A journey through nature, history, food and wine, and art, all combined to give you an unforgettable experience. An 8-day itinerary that, starting from Riolo Terme, a historic spa town, will take you all the way to the beautiful city of Ravenna, with its monuments, mosaics, and history that need no introduction. There will be plenty of varied experiences to suit everyone: wine tastings, piadina-making workshops, mosaic workshops, as well as visits to museums and town centres.

FULL ITINERARY:

 DAY 1: (B&B) Riolo Terme

Arrival at the LA QUERCIOLA agriturismo, in the first hills above RIOLO TERME, with the rest of the day free.
Dinner on your own (à la carte menu available on site) and overnight stay.

DAY 2: (B&B) Riolo Terme – Castel Bolognese – Riolo Terme

The day is dedicated to a wine tour by bike.
In the morning, you’ll visit museums/exhibitions in Castel Bolognese, followed by the Mulino Scodellino, a 14th-century mill, notable as one of the few water-powered mills in Emilia-Romagna still in working order.
You’ll then continue past the racetrack, with a wine tasting at a family-run winery in the first hills near Imola.
Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, you’ll continue with two further wine tastings at two other local wineries between Castel Bolognese and Riolo Terme.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay at the La Querciola agriturismo in Riolo Terme.

DAY 3: (B&B) Castel Bolognese – Lugo di Romagna

Right after breakfast, at 9:00 AM you’ll set off from the La Querciola agriturismo toward the Mulino Scodellino, where you’ll take part in a “piadina-making workshop.”
You’ll then visit the museum and fortress of Bagnara di Romagna.
Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Lugo di Romagna, where you’ll explore the town and surrounding countryside, following the gravel and secondary roads along the course of the Canale dei Mulini.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay in a 3-star or higher hotel.

DAY 4: (B&B) Lugo di Romagna – Marina Romeaa

After breakfast, at 9:00 AM you’ll depart toward Fusignano to visit the Mulino Calcagnini, home to an exhibition of iron artworks.
You’ll continue on to visit the Romagna Air Finders museum, also in Fusignano, followed by a tasting/lunch at a local winery featuring the native Bursòn wine. After lunch, you’ll head toward Marina Romea, riding along the edge of the Valli di Comacchio.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

DAY 5: (B&B) Marina Romea

The day is entirely dedicated to individual activities by the sea.
In the late afternoon, you’ll take part in a small-boat excursion (lasting about 2.5 hours) to the Pialassa Baiona, a small oasis near Marina Romea, where you can admire flamingos, traditional valli fishing huts, and the beautiful swan sanctuary. Sunset will make this excursion an unforgettable moment.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

DAY 6: (B&B) Marina Romea – Ravenna

After breakfast, the day includes a ride that will take you from Marina Romea straight to Ravenna.
Lunch is on your own, and along the way you’ll visit the Classis Museum.
Once in Ravenna, a mosaic-making workshop will let you discover this wonderful art form up close. At the end of the experience, you’ll take home the pieces you created.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay in a 3-star or higher hotel in Ravenna.

 DAY 7: (B&B) Ravenna

The day is entirely dedicated to a free visit of Ravenna, with the chance to shop in the various boutiques and stores around the city.
Both lunch and dinner are on your own, to give you greater freedom and flexibility.
Overnight stay in a 3-star or higher hotel.

DAY 8: Ravenna

After breakfast and check-out, departure and end of all services.
